Overview

A highway mosque in Guindulungan, opened in 1995, that sheltered MILF fighters during the war and is now painted inside with Qur'anic calligraphy.

The first call to prayer sounded here on 20 January 1995, in Barangay Tambunan II, then part of Talayan and now of Guindulungan. The mosque was built on the initiative of Maguindanao Vice Governor Datu Midpantao Antao Midtimbang Sr. by local volunteers, on land that had held a market and later military housing.

During the armed struggle it was a meeting place and supply point for MILF fighters. In 2024 a group of hafidz painted its interior walls by hand with Qur'anic surahs and Islamic sayings.

Today it stands along the highway as a landmark of the town and hosts Eid prayers, iftar gatherings and Qur'an reading contests.
