Overview

A garden in Lamitan of 30,000 tulips cut from recycled plastic bottles.

The city government of Lamitan opened the Forever Tulip Garden on 23 September 2019 at Sitio Panansangan, Barangay Ubit. Its 30,000 tulips were cut from 26,877 plastic bottles gathered from 45 villages of the city and painted red, yellow, pink and blue; other bottles were mixed into sand and cement to make the garden paths.

The garden came out of the city's solid waste campaign under then mayor Rose Furigay, Abante Lamitan, Atras Basura, and visitors were already coming before it was finished. In 2025 the Daily Tribune still listed it among Basilan's attractions, alongside Bulingan Falls.
