Overview

A short drive out of Lamitan, and the island’s best-known waterfall.

A broad curtain falling into a pool in forest outside Lamitan, and the standard day trip from the city. It is a local swimming spot as much as an attraction, busiest at weekends.

The setting — rubber and forest on a green volcanic island — is as much the experience as the falls themselves.

Things to do

  1. 01See the column-like rock formationsThe falls are less than 10 metres high but wide, and the water drops over rocks that look like stone posts set side by side.
  2. 02Swim in the pool below the fallsThe edges have been cemented and part of the runoff held back to form a pool, which is busiest at weekends and better for swimming outside the wet months.
  3. 03Go on to Calugusan BeachVisitors usually combine the falls with a swim at Calugusan Beach in the same city; coordinate with the city tourism office first.
